Principal’s Message

Eric Jefferson

Dear Knights Staff and Community,

It is my honor and great pleasure to greet you as the new Principal of North County High School. North County High School has enjoyed tremendous success as a beacon of academic excellence in STEM education. These results have not materialized by accident. It has been through hard work, dedication, and partnerships that exist between our staff, parents, community members, and the most important stakeholders in the equation: the student body. Therefore, I am humbled and most appreciative of the opportunity presented to me to become a member of the Knights Family.

I have been privileged to have spent 12 wonderful years as an educator working with students at the elementary, middle, high school, and collegiate levels. The first six years were as a science teacher with various experiences in urban, suburban, and private schools in St. Louis, Missouri. As an educator, I’ve taught: chemistry, AP chemistry, IB chemistry, IB Theories of Knowledge, Physics, and Environmental Chemistry. I served as Assistant Principal in St. Louis City and Baltimore City. Over the last three years, I served as an Assistant Principal in Anne Arundel County. My legacy has been the collaboration with others to provide the best possible education experiences for students.

As the instructional leader of our fine school, I enthusiastically embrace the task of continuing to utilize fiscal, human, and material resources to ensure that students have the necessary tools to be productive citizens as they prepare for the next chapter of their collegiate and career experiences. I realize that distinguished, rigorous, and relevant instruction that meets the needs of each student will be the vehicle to continuing the success that has been experienced.

My motto is simple: E3 = Engage, Explore, and Elevate. The learning environment must be an Engaging place where students are able to Explore learning, and in return we will Elevate all students. This also creates a safe and secure learning environment for students, staff, and support personnel. A shared, collaborative approach is necessary to create and maintain such a desired learning environment.

I look forward to exchanging ideas as we work in symphonic harmony to create an educational masterpiece for many years to come.
